In my work there exists a process of restructuring memories. In the image I seek a confrontation between reminiscences of readings and my wanderings in the city and its surrounds. Interaction between different techniques - art, painting, photography, modeling, etching - brings me to other textures, to interstices. The history of the city, of inhabited and abandoned spaces, their sedimentary strata, appear to me as memories in-waiting, continuous and protean cycles. The human figure, over time, has receded. The natural backdrop regains its autonomy. The landscape becomes abstract from the very moment that the gaze loses itself in it. Photography and painting send me back constantly towards this presence that one imagines, not that of the artist at work but rather the presence of he who observes, of he who brings it about.
